Frequently Asked Questions
What are idle fees?
Idle fees are applied after a charging session has ended and the vehicle is still plugged in beyond the 30-minute grace period. They encourage drivers to free up the charging lot for the next customer.
When will idle fees apply?
Idle fees apply all day, every day, once the grace period has elapsed after a charging session ends.
Where are idle fees applied?
Idle fees are applied at all iCharge stations. We will announce any specific exceptions in advance.
Will I be notified before idle fees apply?
Yes. You will receive notifications through the iCharge App when your charging session completes and again before the grace period ends. Mobile push notifications can also be sent outside the app — just enable notifications on your phone.
Is there a cap on idle fees?
Yes — idle fees are capped at $40 per charging session. The rate is $0.50 per minute, charged only after the 30-minute grace period.
Will idle fees be shown on my receipt?
Yes. Idle fees are itemised separately on your receipt, in addition to the charge for your charging session.
